MEETINGS

WORKING
In this chapter you will find information on Contract, Recruitment, Checks, Equality and Safeguarding.
A simple rhythm, not a calendar full of admin:
Morning Huddles — quick daily check-in before sessions: who's here, what's the plan, anything to flag.
End of Day Debriefs — short wrap-up after sessions.
Bi-Weekly 1:1s — one-to-one time with your Crew Leader on development, wellbeing, and support. Given the emotional weight of SEMH work, this is also your space for reflective supervision — processing what a session brought up for you, not just reviewing targets.
Monthly Crew Meeting — whole-Crew updates, wins, and priorities.
Maximum 30 minutes, clear agenda in advance, clear action points with owners by the end.
PAY
Compass pays your salary on the last day of each calendar month by bank transfer. National Insurance, Tax, a pension contribution, and other relevant deductions (e.g. Student Loan) are taken from your gross salary under PAYE.
You're automatically enrolled into a workplace pension in line with the Pensions Act 2008, with Compass making an employer contribution on top of yours.
You can opt out, though we'd encourage thinking it through first. [PLACEHOLDER: pension provider name, employer/employee contribution rates.]
SICK
If you're too unwell to work, let your designated Senior Crew Leader know as early as possible. Ideally before 08:00 on the day, following the same process as Attendance.
Crew who meet the qualifying criteria are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), in line with current government rates and rules.
[PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether Compass pays company sick pay above SSP, or SSP only.]
Persistent or unexplained absence will be reviewed as part of your ongoing performance.
EXPENSES
Some expenses are paid directly on your behalf — keep receipts, submit within three months via WhatsApp to Mark or your manager, reimbursed in full within two pay periods.
We fully cover session items (firewood, wet wipes, baking ingredients, and more like it) tax-free, plus 50% of PPE clothing costs.
